Dawson Creek does have institutes where one can receive First Aid credentials with certified instructors – however, it does not have a St. John Ambulance. So when the tickets popped up, they raised some questions. In one case, someone had a fake EMR certificate. Laczo says a proper EMR course takes two weeks, and costs $1,000. “In a case like that, they could go and apply for a medic position – if it’s not checked out and the tickets are not valid, they’re putting some serious risk into a job site or when they need to attend to an injured person,” she added.
